It is on a Gateway brand, and it was installed by Gateway. It is not on the motherboard. It is a PCI card. It does show up with the command: lspci 000:00:140 multi media controler: creative labs sb live! EMU10k1 And the creative labs game port is listed below that. Quick question. Is this SB Live! card part of a Dell computer? If so, it may be the custom version of the card that Dell ships as the SB Live! 5.1. This is nothing like other SB Live! cards, and is only supported in very recent versions of Alsa. Mine has 5 jacks, not 4. Other than that, it uses a different chip from other SB Live! cards, and only seems to be single-channel. In other words, it's crippled. _______________________________________________ Speakup mailing list Speakup at braille.uwo.ca http://speech.braille.uwo.ca/mailman/listinfo/speakup
