Ogg123 Broken?

Steve,

Several releases ago I had a problem installing the ogg/vorbis software
downloaded from sources. In my case it turned out that a primitive
version had been included with my distro and was installed already, and
the new stuff was not overwriting it, but going into different
locations. The solution was to first use the Slackware "removepkg"
utility to uninstall the original package, after which the new stuff
worked fine. Any chance something like this might be happening on your
system?
