adding users to groups

I heard tell that ameer armaly delivered up the following on Mon, Apr 19, 2004 at 10:19:35PM -0400,

Simple.
as root, edit /etc/group with your favorite editor.
at the end of the group statement, add the users as a comma separated 
list. like this.
audio:x:29:shaun,ken,keith,sam,captain-nemo,shaun_oliver
by doing that, everyone in that list can access my audio devices.
