On my slackware 9.1 system, edit /etc/inetd.conf. In there, find a
line like the following:

telnet  stream  tcp     nowait  root    /usr/sbin/tcpd  in.telnetd

If there is a "#" in front of this line, then remove the "#". Then
send inetd a hup by doing:

killall -HUP inetd

, and you should be set. As for setting up everything else, you'll
want to read the docs on each program you want to setup.
