Hmmm --- It seems like recent versions of sox have an mp3 decoder
included. That means the sox play command can play mp3 files and
sox can be used to convert mp3 to other formats (but not to mp3
since there is no encoder included). Try it. It sure beats
mpg321.

But I still prefer madplay.
