As I am lucky enough to have some sight, I have tried Ardour, and it is a 
VERY nice piece of multi-track recording software. In fact I package it for 
Slackware.

I have used it for several projects and it has always worked well for me.

However I have never used ksi, as it doesn't have nearly as many features 
as the GUI version, and doesn't seem to be supported. I also think ksi has 
quite a clumsy interface.

I suggest Ecasound http://www.eca.cx as it is entirely command-line driven, 
however front-ends are available of course.
