A device Question:

Thanks Patrick,

But now I have another question that has arisen because of your answer.

You wrote, "Using the mass storage driver ..."

My question is:
Is this a module,
something that needs to be compiled into the kernel,
or an application that you need to run prior to mounting the USB drive?

Hello
Using the mass storage driver uses the device as if it wereSCSI so you
need to use the /dev/sdXY device names, of course x being the device
letter and y being the partition number.

Can anyone tell me what the device is for a USB-drive?

I know that to mount
an ide drive, the device is: /dev/hdX#
a scsi drive, the device is: /dev/sdX#

If memory serves me correctly,
A zip-drive, the device is: /dev/sdX#
(this is because the zip drive is treated as pseudo scsi, or so I was
once told.)

Thank you in advance!
