You have to edit the same file you inserted the items into and simply delete the line for the item you want to remove. I'm assuming you have a file called crontab on your system some place. As for my Slackware 9.1 system, /var/spool/cron/crontabs contains a file for each user. In the specific case of this machine I'm currently using, there is only one file - called root. That file contains all my system wide crontab entries. Actually, when I type 'crontab -e' as root, I get popped right into an edit session with system wide crontab entries as well. Hope this helps.
