Two real quick questions

Jes breaks down the door of the speakup room and asks, What! Is the cvs version of speakup? Lord! I've heard so many references to
it, but what the heck is it, anyway?
If somebody can answer that, I'd be much obliged!

If you're a bit brave, try using the CVS version of Speakup. The
initialization problem experienced with Accent was fixed by Saturday
November 1. Just run the checkout script from your speakup directory and it
will go out and update the speakup files for you. I should say, this all
worked with my Accent PC but I don't know if the SA is covered or not.
There has been a serial probing problem with some synths, namely the
Speakout. Not sure if Accent SA suffers that probing problem or not.

Off the top of my head, the Carroll center at PSU.EDU has a slackware mirror
and it is pretty fast too. Try
ftp://ftp.carroll.psu.edu/pub/linux/distributions. Sorry, I'm not at home
right now so am guessing the path part. But anyway, give it a tryor
navigate down to the Slackware stuff from /pub.
