I think this is due to the fact that the fedora core is more community based than redhat Linux. Redhat has been faulted for placing packages in the install that were proprietary pieces of software. Thank you for telling me about this, I've thought about switching to fedora anyway, and this means I'm going to completely errase my iso images of redhat linux if it's no longer going to be current technology.
