Hi, I don't think the problem is so much gnopernicus but many of the applications for gnome and X-windows haven't been updated to support the accessibility framework. So there is quite a large number of applications you will see on your system that simply won't work, or only half work. Mozilla is a work in progress, and I've not got it working at all on my 9.0 system so behavior seams to change from Linux system to Linux system. As for gnome-terminal gnopernicus sort of works with it, and I have managed to use lynx, and links, in it with pretty good feedback. When, I tried nano, all it wanted to say was terminal over and over, and I would love to kill that message. However, if I don't want to leave x I tend to open gnome-terminal and load yasr which reads gnome-terminal quite well. ----- Original Message ----- From: Deedra Waters <dmwaters@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <speakup at braille.uwo.ca> Cc: Gnome Accessibility List <gnome-accessibility-list at gnome.org> Sent: Friday, May 30, 2003 1:12 AM Subject: Re: gnopernicus > -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- > Hash: SHA1 > > what I'm mainly seeing is this. it doesn't announce the name of the > program that's starting, and take mozilla again for example, when I take > it to a webpage such as www.debian.org, or www.dmwaters.us, it does not > read the page, it acts like the page is blank. > > it does the same with the gnome terminal, I haven't tried it in editors, > and I'm unsure of wether I should try conciddering what I'm seeing so > far.
