I've never heard of bc authentication, but for the standard authentication on every NNTP server I've seen, you just need to make sure that the username is the one the server wants. If it's the same as your login name on your own system, just enter the password. If it's different, put /user=username at the end of the nntp-serverr line in .pinerc.
