Man, that's the real draw-back of modularizing Speakup.  For me, the major
selling point of Speakup is its capability of speaking earlier in the boot
process than any DOS or Windows screen reader.  I realize that this gets
sacrificed for software speech, but I hope it never goes away as an
option in Speakup for those of us fortunate enough to own hardware speech
synthesizers.
