I have heard that kiasara phones are good not sure of the spelling. the only additional things I require are signal strength, batery level and an accessible way to at least turn off roaming if not detect that roaming is taking place. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Chuck Hallenbeck" <chuckh@xxxxxxxx> To: "Speakup is a screen review system for Linux." <speakup at braille.uwo.ca> Sent: Friday, December 26, 2003 5:47 PM Subject: Re: Off topic -- Mobile accessibility V Talx -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Hi gang, I was encouraged by recent posts on this subject and stopped by my local cell phone store today to see what they had that might be useful for me. I have not previously used a cell phone. They showed me a beautiful little gem that I can use quite well for common functions: placing a call, answering a call, detecting whether it is on or off, adjusting volume. It is a little bigger than a pack of cigarettes (anybody remember cigarettes?) and has nice big keys, almost chiclet size. It is the Nokia model 5165. I am sure it has functions that might be problematic for me, but I am very happy to be able to use it as well as I indicated above. They charged me $0.99 for the thing, plus of course a two year contract. Chuck - -- The Moon is Waxing Crescent (16% of Full) In a world without Fences or Walls no one needs Windows or Gates.
