AlexaSnow irfiles are DOS and Windows executables that you can use to create an installation boot floppy for installing the Speakup Modified Red Hat distribution. The rawrite executables are not particular to any synthesizer. It is important to follow the very specific instructions for using rawrite particularly if you're using DOS when creating the boot floppies for your installation of Linux. Also, please look for hyperlinks both to the Windows rawrite, and to the DOS rawrite in our HOWTO document. They will take you directly to the downloadable executable. And, yes, Alex is correct that these are available via ftp on the Speakup site as well. es: > From: "Alex Snow" <alex_snow at gmx.net> > > You can proaly find them on the speakup ftp site in the redhat directory. > Or if they're not there you can find them on ftp.redhat.com or one of it's > mirrors. > Note that this is coming from a slackware user so excuse any > inaccurisies... > > > ----- Original Message ----- > From: TJ McElroy > To: speakup at braille.uwo.ca > Sent: Friday, August 08, 2003 7:34 AM > Subject: Disk Image > Hello, > > I have read: > > <A > HREF="http://www.linux-speakup.org/ftp/disks/redhat/HOWTO_INSTALL.html">HOW > to Install Red Hat 8.0 Using Speakup</A> > > I have purchased a box set of Red Hat 8.0. > > I have download the rawwrite program. > > I need to create a boot diskette, because I can not use my cd-rom to > boot from. > > Where can I find the disk image (s),that are for a Dec Talk Express ? > > Thanks, -- Janina Sajka, Director Technology Research and Development Governmental Relations Group American Foundation for the Blind (AFB) Email: janina at afb.net Phone: (202) 408-8175
