It should just be a matter of echoing the initial values back to the important files in /proc/speakup. This should force Dectalk to initialize just as if you had rebooted. I think I can have that script within the next couple of days, or maybe even this afternoon. I will post a copy of the script as soon as I have determined if it actually works the way I think it should, or else I'll post my failures/other ideas.
