Unfortunately IBM no longer offers ViaVoice TTS (Text to Speech) for Linux as a download, and the linux development of ViaVoice is stopped, the product is pretty much dead (on linux). This is a shame because ViaVoice TTS sounds really nice. The festival home page is here: http://www.cstr.ed.ac.uk/projects/festival/ And the download page is here: http://festvox.org/packed/festival/1.4.3/ There are many other places to find festival too, like at CMU. For american english you can get a working synth with just these five files: http://festvox.org/packed/festival/1.4.3/speech_tools-1.2.3-release.tar.gz http://festvox.org/packed/festival/1.4.3/festival-1.4.3-release.tar.gz http://festvox.org/packed/festival/1.4.3/festvox_kallpc16k.tar.gz http://festvox.org/packed/festival/1.4.3/festlex_POSLEX.tar.gz http://festvox.org/packed/festival/1.4.3/festlex_CMU.tar.gz -- Doug
