Hi all. After my earlier post, I ran an strace on the syslinux command I was executing. In the output there is a mention of ld.so.preload, which after doing some research I figured out that file pertained to Libsafe. It then opens the floppy device like its supposed to, however then it attempts writing to /tmp. When it can't do that it exits with an exit (1). Anyone know if I actually need libsafe installed in order to use Syslinux properly? I am kind of speculative about doing this after hearing about what Chuck went through with it. Thx!
