Hi there Greg, the accent pc and the accent sa units sound very similar to each other, however; your question posed below is one which I find challenging to answer even though I own a pc and an sa and I've used the Double-Talk pretty extensively. Well, before I even attempt an answer let me just say that it's been my experience that most people are on one of two sides in regard to the accent units, those who love them love them alot, and its detractors almost dispize it. The accent units sound what I'll term much more robotic than do the double-talk in the views of many, however; the accent sa and pc both produce very crisp speech and both the sa and the pc are capable of very high speech rates while still maintaining crispness to the ear and understandability. Both units also support higher rates of speech output than do the double-talk unless you've got one of the double-talks that's been modified, believe if memory serves correctly one of the guys at Micro-talk modified the Double-talk in some form or another to allow it do produce higher rates of speech output than it's normally capable of by default. In closing, the sound of a synth is very subjective so it's hard to describe it verbally imho but I have one here and I am guessing there are lots of others on list who use them, if we're on the reflector together some time I'd be happy to hit my space bar to transmit and say read a short document so you could hear it, also I should be around mot of tonight and though I've got a couple of things to get done if ya wanted to give me a quick ring my home phone number is +1-709-596-3165. You could also hear it that way. Btw, I'm in Newfoundland in Canada so my timezone is -03:30 behind UTC so the only thing I ask is that you not call me after 9 utc if you do decide to call me as after that you'd probably wake up other people. Anyway that someone may be able to compare it to a doubletalk pc? This sounds like a bargain, I'm seriously thinking about it. > > Greg > > > On Wed, Oct 16, 2002 at 04:37:21PM -0230, Edward L.
