Hi: You have lots of choices. I actually use pine to read news, since I use it to read mail and having the two integrated is nice. But a standalone newsreader is probably going to have mroe features. You can even read news with lynx if you want to - news:groupname as long as you've specified an NNTP server in the lynx configuration file.
