yes its true its compiled in, and even the keymaps are included. I did an install of rh7.4 beta (null) on my own off sock standard cds. Just be aware that once you boot up, you'll need to add RUN_FIRSTBOOT=no to etc/sysconfig/firstboot otherwise it'll keep trying to run an X application to do soundcard and printer configs. other than that you should be fine.
