ah.. I didn ot think of that because I have no other users.. I think a better solution is to do something like this make a file /root/password chmod it so only root can read and write to it then do mount -t smbfs -o username=user,password=</root/password ... the rest of the command I do not have a box in front of me but will that take the data in the file password and place it there?
