Hi, I believe that he may be trying to install Debian on a native Linux filesystem, but I'm not sure if he knows how to proceed with the installation. At least this is what I gather from looking at his command line. Anyways, you need to create at least one LLinux-native partition and one swap partition. if you'd like, you can also create separate partitions for /usr, /home, /var, and /tmp. To do so, you need to use the fdisk utility to create the necissary partitions. You should also take the time to calculate you're drive's geometry. Failing to do so might cause problems if fdisk does not detect it properly. If you need any more information, feel free to write me off-list at eheil at rcn.com. --Regards, Erik ----- Original Message ----- From: "Toby Fisher" <toby_fisher@xxxxxxxxxxx> To: "Speakup List" <speakup at braille.uwo.ca> Sent: Friday, June 28, 2002 4:44 PM Subject: Re: Linux Installation > On Thu, 27 Jun 2002, ADFM wrote: > > > I am trying to understand.
