cd burning

Hi Randy. The dominant thing here seems to be the transfer rate from your local machine through the usb cable to the Cd burner. That transfer rate seems to be very slow. Do you get anything like buffer underrun errors when burning Cds? Or does your entire machine lock up (not good at all if this happens)? Do you have any other usb devices besides the Cd burner just to make sure the port is working fine and that the controller isn't malfunctioning in some miserable way? Do you have another machine on which to test the burner? If so I would do that if I were you.

I am not sure as to what controller (s) usb-uhci uses or is compatible with. As for everything timing out in the second track, it might have to do with slow transfer rates. How recent is the document that you read?

Sorry I can't say whether its normal or not. Because if you are burning 650 mb at 1x, then I would say it could take something close to the time you specify.
