Bill did help edit the modules.conf file. if I format a blank floppy on my dos box, then mount /dev/floppy can I use the cp command to copy my modules.conf to a floppy? If this will work, I can attach it in a message. My linux machine doesn't have functioning mail, because it's on an ip internal to my router. the linux machine has an ip of 10.x.x.x, so it can't receive mail, and I haven't btohered to configure sendmail. If I can copy the file to a flopy, I'll attach it to my next message. -----Original Message----- From: speakup-admin@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:speakup-admin at braille.uwo.ca]On Behalf Of Janina Sajka Sent: Sunday, June 16, 2002 5:25 PM To: speakup at braille.uwo.ca Subject: RE: newby sound question His name is Bill, and knowing he helped you with the installation helps explain what you have and what might be going wrong. Odds are that your sound is muted. It is also possible that running the sndconfig script mucked something up. Never fear, between Bill and the rest of us on this list we'll get this untangled for you. Did you and Bill edit your modules.conf?
