cdrom/cdr trouble or ide1 problem: BIG TROUBLE I think

Looks like one of  the drives has just failed, either that
or the secondary ide controller has failed but if the cdrom works;
then the ide controller should e ok.
Aborting due to timeout means a device
just stopped responding writer might be dead.
