Hi Randy. Well I'm not sure if Dectalk express synths can still be obtained, but if you happen to dig one up, just get a usb2serial converter. Or a serial female2male adapter if your serial port happens to be female like the one on my laptop is. Also, a question to the listers. I'm planning on possibly replacing winblows on my laptop with Debian. If I get a USB2serial converter and plug it into the right-most port for instance, would it be refered to as ttys0? Thanks! ----- Original Message ----- From: randy turner <rturner2@xxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <speakup at braille.uwo.ca> Sent: Monday, April 01, 2002 2:23 AM Subject: pci usb synths > > > hi all, > i was looking at new computers > most of them that i could find only have one isa slot, > how do people get around this using speakup? > does speakup work with anything that uses pci slots or usb ports? > thanks in advance > randy > > > > _______________________________________________ > Speakup mailing list > Speakup at braille.uwo.ca > http://speech.braille.uwo.ca/mailman/listinfo/speakup
