alsa and sox questions

Hi Geof,
Well everything worked fine except Speak Freely.  I had a lot of white 
noise on my transmissions and people's voices would suddenly sound like 
a 1 7/8 IPS recording played at 15/16 IPS.  Jim suggested that I drop 
back to the latest stable release and now everything works like it used 
to.
