Hi Cheryl, Don't worry about the SB Live card working. It's the easiest sound card I've set up. re two sound cards: I (and many others on this list) have multiple sound cards running. However, I (and most others I think) are using the ALSA drivers because they are better. They are modules that you can install/load (one for each different type of sound card you have). The instructions that come in the packages for ALSA (driver, lib and utils) are quite good. Just follow them and you won't have to compile a kernel each time you upgrade/change sound drivers. You do have to compile the kernel with sound support in and none of the other sound drivers in the kernel though. Then install the ALSA packages and you're smiling!
