Well, I finally got it from somebody who seems to know that there is a bug in dosemu 1.0.2 that keeps dosemu from creating lock files without suid root permissions. I was told to try the 1.3.1 version, marked unstable but supposedly useable. Just hope it has decent compile directions! Will keep you posted.
