As a number of folks have already mentioned it's a speakupmap.map problem using an old map. It was necessary to change some of the key function lookup allocations to provide the numlock feature. If anyone uses a separate keymap from the one built-in to the kernel at compile time will run into this problem. I won't iterate how to fix the problem Jim Wantz has already done that well.
