Duplicating the content of the hard drive

Hello, listers!
I would like to change my old hard drive for a new one without having to
reinstall the two OSs, Windows and Linux. What is the best way to accomplish
the task?
Can I just boot from a linux-driven floppy and perform a "dd" copy from one
disk to another? Will that make sure that when I boot with a new disk
instead of the old one, everything will be unchanged?
Thanks for any advice you may offer.
Victor
