I can. you don't need to get the tar.gz archive. all you need is the kernel sources from ftp://ftp.kernel.org and then the checkout script from ftp://linux-speakup.org . then you do chmod 755 checkout to make it executeable, and run it. after of course you've unpacked the kernel source tree.
