Hi there, Thanks for this lead. I have also found that www.mwave.com offers a smartcom model that supports dos and linux for around $36 plus shipping. I am amazed that there are so many windows modems and so few models that have enough onboard hardware to handle dos and linux set-ups. Thanks to all for your help!
