Another approach that one can do with an existing Slackware installation would be to look in /var/log/packages. You have every package installed on your system listed as a single file for each one. Opening each of these will reveal the contents of the package including version, description and file list. -----Original Message----- From: Frank Carmickle [mailto:frankiec@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx] Sent: Monday, October 22, 2001 3:01 PM To: speakup at braille.uwo.ca Subject: Re: scantv On Mon, 22 Oct 2001, Gregory Nowak wrote: > Hi Frank and all, > > If I have Slakware, uhhm, what commands do I use > to find out which versions I have of the packages you mentioned? Ha! One more reason for a package manager! You will have to go look by hand. For the libs you will actually have to find them. Versions of libraries are usually found in there names. -- Frank Carmickle phone: 412 761-9568 email: frankiec at dryrose.com _______________________________________________ Speakup mailing list Speakup at braille.uwo.ca http://speech.braille.uwo.ca/mailman/listinfo/speakup
