Hi. This is a message originally intended for Ann but I'm sure others can use this information as well. If keeping an email address is very important then switching isp's is not the best thing to do if everyone knows your email address. Some isp's will let you keep a mail only account so you don't have to pay them for dialup. The preferred way I feel though is to either own your own domain like I do with asmodean.net or by using an email alias such as pobox.com.
