Thanks for the tip. Also I forgot to mention that at home here I'd like to learn emacspeak with the litetalk so I'm not sure how to get that one to work with emacspeak neither. I did it once a long time ago but don't know how I should do this since the kernel I have has speakup patched in. Should I do the same thing as the suggestion you gave to me for the laptop on the desktop as well? Tommy
