Hi, Richard: Well, the classic starting point is dmesg. That's a command you can execute. You'll want to pipe it through more (or less), and you may want to redirect it's output to a file for closer examination. Redhat has an interesting utility called sysreport that will write a very comprehensive report in /tmp.
