I finally got the install diskette to get the synthesizer talking. I was able to do the install mostly by myself. Unfortunately, I made a few little selection errors. Although my wife was impressed with the beautiful pictures that came up before the lovely desktop, I was not impressed. I will do the install one more time and I'm sure after that I will be bugging someone to tell me how to put the kernel in the directory. I think what will happen is that when Linux is installed, it will come up and not talk. Therefore I need to find a way to boot the operating system in such a way that it still talks so I can copy the kernel in the proper directory after I find out what the Linux copy command is. I've read the installation guide, now for the getting started manual. Not bad progress for one evening though. If any of you have some tips I should know about please put them on the list or e-mail me privately. Rejean Proulx Visit me at http://rejeanproulx.net Ham License VA3REJ
