good news

Here is what I did so far.
The *.a and *.o files went in to /lib. The rest, including the Makefile went
in to /usr/src/linux/include. I did 'make', and it made for me ptmodule.o
in
/lib to work with the 2.2.18 kernel. When I do 'insmod ptmodule.o' in the
/lib directory, it gives me 2 or 3 unresolved symbols. As for the
documentation, if it indeed exists, then I don't know where to find it.
