Kick the bad guys off your computer. That's right. Get those cookie monstors out of there. After all, where you browse and what you access is nobody's business but your own--unless, of course, you choose to make it someone's business. Here's how to do it ... When those nasty little cookies that somehow snuck through your defenses try to report on you and your interests to those nasty marketing people, your little /etc/hosts will effectively trap them. How? Why because of those lovely aliases you just pasted into /etc/hosts. They tell your computer that those nasty people's Internet address is really 127.0.0.1 which is your local computer. Bottom Line? You've just effectively piped the bad guys to /dev/null -- figuratively speaking of course!
