Hi All, Thanks to all thoes who answered my questions regarding the installation of Linux on my friend's system. I ended up using fips, which did the job just fine. I had to give myself a pat on the back (grin). His windows partition came through unscathed, and Linux runs just fine. However, During the install, I confirmed a problem with the bns speakup driver. When the bns reads uppercase letters, it doesn't raise the pitch of the voice. However, windows/DOS screenreaders do this just fine. Thanks. Greg
