Danger danger danger Warning Will Robinson!
I recently purchased an Aser CDRW 10x8x32
ATAPI burner and noticed the following fault:
When you burn a CDR or CDRW the last 16-100 blocks are unreadable in anything
faster than 24x. I've tried different brands of cdr and cdrw media and the same thing happens.
This usually doesn't bite you unless you read the last
files off the cd i.e. those last in alphabetical
order and the drives chucks a mental.
As the computer geek I am I assumed "dud unit no worries"
until I found that my friend with an Aser 12x8x32 had exactly
the same problem, last 16-100 sectors on media were unreadable.
I've burnt every speed from 1x to 10x, tried 4 different brands of media
and still the problem persists.
Funnily my Yamaha drive doesn't exhibit the problem all sectors on the same
rw and different r media are readable.
I hope nobody else has this problem but buyer be warned.
These drives appear to be check because they are the end of aline
and I am yet to get an answer from Aser regarding this fault 2 of us are
having.

Regards, Kerry.
