Slackware distro and new Speakup disks

This is correct. The syntax is speakup_synth=dtlk

When you first boot the bootdisk wait for the disk to stop spinning. At
this point it's at the lilo prompt. It is waiting for you to press enter
or give it the image to boot plus parameters. In this case you want to
type the following:

ramdisk speakup_synth=dtlk

This will enable speakup using the doubletalk synthesizer. Proceed to let
the kernel load and when it asks for the ramdisk put in the 2nd floppy
which you should have previously made from either color.gz or text.gz and
press enter. I recommend using color.gz as the text.gz is not fully
working.
