Speakup and the Debian Rescue disk?

Hello list, I am trying to find out how one goes about booting the debian
rescue disk with the correct parameters for Speakup. I know on a SlackWare
boot disk I can type "ramdisk speakup_synth=txprt speakup_ser=0" for the
Artic Transport and the system comes up talking. I am trying to do the
same thing with the Debian boot disk. I would really appreciate knowing
how this is done.

Thanks in advance,

Doug
