This is a good rule of thumb but it is not totally true. Version 0 swap partitions are limited to 128-megs because the first 4k is used as an index as to what swap pages are in use and 4k is the page size on the Intel architecture. Version 1 swap can be much larger >128megs. Note that version 0 can have up to 8 chunks of 128-megs with 2gb swap max I think or at least 4 chunks can be in use. Regards, Kerry.
