I wanted to share this with everyone. I found an aim client called jaim which is a console aim client and it of course works marvellous with speak up. Was a snap to install and it's real easy to use. If you all remember the slash commands before irc commands this is similar /m nickname for msg /r to reply, etc etc. I found this on freshmeat.com but if anyone wants it I can attach it to you privately.
