Kirk - That is handy, the '15' punct setting. I am using a doubletalk external here and it works as you described. Also, for what it is worth, the command Bill described for putting values into speakup also works in reverse. The following seems to be analogous to dumpspk, creating all the necessary files with current values in them: cp -R /proc/speakup /etc You can then inspect/modify the resulting files and everything gets put back at once next time you use the command Bill described.
