I will be using the box as a firewall as well as a router. It is a little early yet to see if I wanted to be a server. It is slow (pent 75) and if I do decide to go that rout, I will buy a faster machine. So, I am going to use the box for 1) a router 2) 1 firewall 3) a box to learn how to use Linux. This is my first time installing Linux, and am finding it quite interesting. My mager is Computer Science at Texas A & M. I am currently a softmore. I would appreciate it if someone could tell me what each package does in the main install menu (what each group of packages are for and how they are used). Thank you for your help. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Scott Howell" <showell@xxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <speakup at braille.uwo.ca> Sent: Sunday, September 10, 2000 7:11 PM Subject: Re: new user with slackware questions > If your only using the box as a firewall, you need very little.
