when the system stops booting, type speakup_ser=1
if you want to mount your root partition you must type mount
root=/dev/hdxx where xx is from a1 to d whatever depending where your
linux is installed.
if it's on the second partition of the first hard drive type, mount
root=/dev/hda2 speakup_ser=1\
